Job Title: Curriculum Manager English
Location: Coventry College (On-site, no hybrid working)

Hours per Week: 37 per week
Salary: £48,500 to £53,005 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
About the Role
Coventry College is seeking an ambitious and experienced Curriculum Manager – English to lead and develop our English provision across GCSE and Functional Skills programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate education leader to drive high standards in teaching, learning, and student achievement, ensuring an outstanding experience for learners from diverse backgrounds.
We are looking for the right person who can provide strategic leadership and operational management of English programmes (GCSE & Functional Skills), as well as lead, motivate, and support a team of English lecturers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Part of the role is to monitor and analyse performance data to inform quality improvement strategies as well as develop strong internal and external partnerships to enhance learner opportunities. Linking to ensuring compliance with awarding body and funding requirements.
Can you drive improvements in student achievement, retention, attendance, and progression? Can you ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment through effective observation, coaching, and CPD planning? Can you manage curriculum planning, timetabling, and resource allocation effectively? If the answer is yes, this may be the role for you.

Requirements
Must-Have:
• Relevant teaching qualification
• Minimum of Level 2 qualification, or equivalent competency, in Communication/Literacy and Numeracy/Maths
• A degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject area
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Teaching experience in relevant subject area
• Application of quality improvement and assurance processes, including internal verification.
• Experience in improving learner outcomes and quality of education
• Successful course and curriculum development. E.G. EPYP, Higher Education, AEB etc.
• Building productive working relationships with external agencies, including businesses and community organisations
• Experience of tracking and monitoring leaver progress and implementing timely improvement strategies
