We are seeking a motivated Student Welfare Officer to join our Safeguarding & Wellbeing team, and provide a holistic support service for vulnerable students across a variety of curriculum areas, with a particular focus on students who are Looked After Children or Care Leavers.

In this role you will be providing students with 1:1 advice and support on personal and welfare related issues, and linking closely with curriculum staff to support the delivery of welfare related group sessions.

A large proportion of your work will be intervention support for vulnerable students at risk of underachieving, and acting as the main link for Social Workers and the Virtual School, attending regular PEP and LAC reviews to support and promote successful outcomes.

With a background that includes welfare and safeguarding experience, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will have knowledge of the issues relating to the personal and social development of Looked After Children.

You would be joining a motivated and experienced student focused team who are collaborative and proactive in their approach to supporting students to overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

In return Croydon College offers generous leave, the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity.
