Grade BS4 - £26,123 per annum

Job Purpose:

To carry out day to day maintenance checks and repairs on plant, equipment and the building fabric.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:

a) Investigation and repair of faults to the College or its annexes within their area of expertise.

b) To plan, coordinate and carry out a programme of planned maintenance to the College or its annexes within their area of expertise.

c) To maintain, develop and monitor the colleges Building and Energy Management systems.

d) To advise and assist service contractors, maintenance contractors and minor works contractors working at the College or its annexes.

e) To plan, evaluate resources, and deliver refurbishment projects within the college, within their area of expertise.

f) To liaise with clients using the telephone, letter, e-mail and the College intranet and to research systems and products using the web.

g) To be available to attend the College and/or its annexes in emergencies.

h) To order and maintain adequate levels of consumable items required for their trade for the day to day activities of the college.

i) To check and audit on a weekly basis all tools and equipment held by them.

j) To ensure that all work carried out complies with current statutory regulations and the Health and Safety at work Act.

k) To perform additional duties as required which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
