Hours of work will be Monday - Wednesday, 8.30am -5pm.

1. Purpose of Job

To undertake all administrative duties associated with student bursaries.

2. Principle Accountabilities

a. To process applications, assess eligibility, make payments and maintain records of student payments from the 16 – 19 Bursary Fund, Vulnerable Bursary, 19+ Learner Support Fund and the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary.

b. To keep up to date with government guidance, policies and procedures relating to student finance schemes.

c. To provide effective administrative support for all student finance schemes available through the college ensuring that students receive timely and appropriate financial support available.

d. To provide information to students, prospective students, parents and staff about the financial support available through both college student finance schemes and national schemes such as Care to Learn, 24+ Advanced Learning Loans Bursary, Vulnerable Bursary.

e. To staff student finance for applications for financial support, to issue travel passes, discuss childcare support and deal with individual student enquiries regarding payments or awards.

f. To be an important point of contact for individual students, often dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

g. Support the Student Support Team in assisting students with urgent financial support requirements

h. To develop and maintain appropriate systems required for the filing and storage of associated documentation and paperwork.

i. To liaise with curriculum staff across the college with regards to kits, equipment, attendance information, and to provide any support with regards to financial schemes.

j. To comply with all relevant policies and procedures.

k. To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.
