Downend School is excited to be recruiting for a DT Food & Textiles Technician to join our thriving faculty from September 2024. Although this is a part time, fixed term contract initially, there is the opportunity to build on experience and become a full time, permanent member of the team over the next couple of years.

About the role

You will provide technical and administrative support to teaching staff, including in-class support and preparing lesson resources for Food & Textiles. You will be helping our students to receive a full experience of Food & Textiles in engaging lessons. You’ll work closely with all members of the Technology Department and the wider school to support our students in reaching their potential.

About you

You would need experience in working with a range of different materials and equipment, however, you do not need to have specific education experience as we can provide on-the-job training. If you are interested in considering a career move into a role which combines practical food and textile skills, and working to support students to develop these, this position could be for you. If you are practically minded with good organisational skills we want to hear from you.
