KS3 PE TEACHER/VOCATIONAL SUBJECTS

To commence September 2024

Temporary with a view to becoming permanent.

Dylan Thomas Community School is a happy and safe school where the needs of all pupils are catered for and taken into account. All staff play a key part in ensuring that this continues. The successful candidate will be offered the full support and resources of the school to develop professionally in a highly supportive environment with inspirational and supportive colleagues.

In our February 2024 Inspection, Estyn stated that “Staff at Dylan Thomas Community School offer pupils a consistently high quality of Care, Support & Guidance. The school has an inclusive family feel and there are strong relationships between pupils and staff”

Governors are seeking to appoint an innovative, talented, enthusiastic and committed teacher to teach PE across KS3 and vocational subjects in KS4. This is an exciting and varied role teaching popular vocational subjects that include Outdoor Learning, Personal and Social Education, Teamwork and PE. Although experience in these vocational areas would be ideal if you do not then a willingness to learn and develop on the job with a can do mentality is necessary. The school offers a supportive, well resourced environment with committed staff. If the person appointed is a NQT, he/she will be offered excellent opportunities for personal and Professional Development through our NQT and induction programmes. Applications from non qualified teachers or teachers with alternative qualifications and/or experience will also be considered.

The successful candidate will receive the full support of the school in continuing their own professional development and he/she will join a school where staff are well supported by colleagues, there is a real strength of community and collegiate between all members of staff. Dylan Thomas is a rapidly growing, successful and forward thinking school which has seen a dramatic increase in pupil numbers and significant investment in facilities over the last three years. The school is oversubscribed in nearly all year groups. We have high expectations of all members of our school community with an emphasis on strong relationships and inclusivity.

The Health and Sport Area of Learning is a supportive and passionate team who contribute effectively to the whole school work and ethos.

Applications from NQTs are welcomed.

This post requires a DBS Check to enhanced level. Detailed Job descriptions, person specifications and application forms are available from e-teach or by emailing the school.
