Academic Mentor - Immediate Start

Aim: To provide basic academic support to a Year 9 learner who is focusing on the re-engagement path back into education.

Location: Reading, Berkshire 

Frequency: 2-3 hour session on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning.

Duration: Ongoing 

Extra information: A year 9 learner who is not currently accessing the school setting, is in need of basic academic support to begin addressing the gaps in their knowledge. The school estimate the learner to be working 2-3 years behind age expectations. The young person does have an EHCP, but there are no apparent SEN needs at this time.

Requirements:

Teaching experience, particularly in SEN settings

A compassionate and patient approach to teaching

Openness to integrating the learner's passions into lessons

Ability to create a calm and non-overwhelming atmosphere
