Job Title: Literacy & Numeracy KS3 Tutor

Aim: To positively re-engage a student with education, improve his emotional regulation, and reduce how restrictive his separation anxiety is. To support literacy, numeracy, and History 1:1, as this student learns and engages better this way. But is not to be overwhelmed with demands or expected to respond well to a demand.

Location: Nuneaton

Frequency: Monday 12-3pm and Friday 12-3pm

Duration: On going

Extra info: This student is in Year 8 but is working at a national curriculum level of Year 6. He likes swimming, gaming, and spending time with his friends and is a lovely and sociable young man. He also enjoys going on his pogo stick and helping to look after the guinea pigs. He has stated that when he is older, he would like to work in technology and design games. The focus of the tuition is to create a positive re-engagement and relationship with education, and to reduce his separation anxiety. The student displays EBSA/ PDA behaviours and obtains an EHCP with an EdPysc report. He obtains a negative relationship/perspective of with the school environment due to his heightened separation anxiety, so behaviour within this setting without correct support can be very difficult. The parent would like the involvement of cooking/baking in some sessions as well, but this is not a mandatory element of the role and can be assisted by Mum. Hours of role have potential to increase due to EOTAS package in process.
