Job Title: Social Buddy

Aim: To provide tuition support for a learner with a play learning approach

Location: Liverpool, Merseyside 🏡

Frequency: 3 hours a week to start off with

Duration: Ongoing, until a SEN school placement has been found

Extra Info: This position involves providing 3 hours of support per week to a 7-year-old learner who has been out of school for 5 weeks due to a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and selective mutism. The learner's academic performance is uncertain, but a play-based learning approach is necessary. The role will continue until the end of the academic year, contingent upon the learner's engagement and attendance, as they may transition to a specialist placement in September. The tutor will be designated as a 'Social buddy' due to the learner's severe PDA profile. The learner enjoys activities such as playing with Lego, reading, exploring nature, and spending time with his dogs. Additionally, he has sensory processing difficulties.
