Expression of Interest: Lecturer & Programme Lead (Housing Industry Specialist)

Are you passionate about the housing sector and interested in exploring a future opportunity with Education Partnership North East (EPNE)? We’re inviting expressions of interest from individuals who would like an informal conversation about a potential role as a Lecturer & Programme Lead: Housing Industry Specialist within our growing Housing Curriculum Team.

Why EPNE?

At EPNE, our purpose is clear: to unlock potential, create opportunities, and transform lives through outstanding education, skills and training.

We’re proud of our empowering culture, our commitment to inclusivity, and our belief that every action taken by every member of our staff contributes to the success of our students and communities.

Following our Outstanding Ofsted rating across all areas, we continue to innovate, evolve, and invest in the people who share our mission.

About the Opportunity

We are looking to connect with professionals who have expertise in the housing sector and an interest in contributing to the design and delivery of Level 4 and Level 5 Chartered Institute of Housing qualifications. As the Competence & Conduct Standard comes into effect in October 2026, this role will play a key part in shaping the future of housing education and supporting the professionalisation of the sector.

If you have experience within housing, enjoy supporting others in their development, and are excited by the idea of teaching, training, and curriculum design, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Could Be Involved In

Delivering high-quality, innovative teaching and learning

Shaping the Housing Curriculum and collaborating with industry partners

Developing assessments, resources, and quality assurance processes

Using cutting-edge tools such as immersive classrooms through our Housing Innovation Construction Skills Academy

We are committed to supporting professional growth. If you join us, you will have access to a comprehensive induction and support in working towards a Level 3 Assessor Award and Level 5 Teaching Diploma where required.

Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentives

If you’re making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers.

In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government’s targeted retention incentive (formerly “levelling-up premium”) payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects.

Please note eligibility for both TTF and the Targeted Retention Incentive varies by role, subject area and provider, they do not apply to every vacancy.
