Our well-known and highly regarded special school in Godalming, Surrey, nestled in 56 acres of wooded grounds, is currently seeking Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. Our school caters for up to 150 pupils and Sixth Form students aged 7 – 19, who have a range of academic abilities and complex needs.
About Us:
At our school, we offer access to an extensive range of GCSE subjects pitched at individual students’ levels. Our Sixth Form students have the opportunity to access external college placements as part of their personalized holistic education and therapy provision. With an in-house team of qualified therapists offering Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Sensory Integration, we ensure that each student can access the curriculum at an appropriate level, maximizing their potential for achievement.
Our nurturing, yet appropriately challenging, environment encourages growth and development towards independence, preparing our students for further education and employment. We provide purpose-built medical facilities where nursing cover is provided daily by qualified staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.
The Role:
As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students in their learning and development. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs
Assisting classroom teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons
Supporting students with their social, emotional, and personal care needs
Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential
A compassionate and patient approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment
A commitment to promoting the well-being and development of all students
