SEN Teacher

Location: Bristol

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join the school. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special educational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of students with special educational needs.
  • Assess students' strengths and weaknesses to develop personalized learning goals and strategies.
  • Implement specialized teaching techniques and resources to support students with diverse learning requirements, including those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, behavioural disorders, or developmental delays.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environ ment where all students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement and academic success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on students' progress and collaborate on educational goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Special Education or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of various learning disabilities, behavioural disorders, and developmental delays, as well as effective teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Patient, compassionate, and empathetic attitude towards students with diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current on best practices in special education.
