About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Science Technician to join our vibrant and supportive science department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping deliver high quality practical science education for our students.
As a valued member of our technician team, you will provide practical support and guidance to staff and students across the science curriculum. Your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing, organising and setting out apparatus, equipment and materials for classroom demonstrations and practical lessons
• Ensuring equipment is cleaned, maintained and safely stored, including carrying out simple repairs where required
• Upholding high standards of Health & Safety, including adherence to COSHH regulations, and supporting staff and students to follow safe working practices
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and keen to contribute to a thriving department. Our ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience as a science technician (desirable, but full training will be provided for the right person)
• A minimum of five GCSEs at grades A*–C / 9–4, including science, English language and maths
The post is permanent for 37 hours per week, term time only plus the school training days and reports to the Head of science.
This vacancy is also open to a further recruitment payment of £500 (payable after 6 months of service) if you are recommended to us by a current member of staff, as part of our Recommend a Friend scheme.
