BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time only

Salary: £23,649 (£27,532 FTE)

Are you a proactive, organised professional who thrives on building connections and creating impactful opportunities? Franklin College is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Business Development Officer to join our Centre for Professional Development. This pivotal role focuses on sourcing and managing high-quality T Level industry placements, supporting student employability, and building strong relationships with local employers.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Secure and manage meaningful industry placements for T Level and other professional programmes.

• Develop and maintain relationships with a wide network of local and regional employers.

• Guide students through the placement process and support them in becoming workplace-ready.

• Ensure all compliance documentation, health and safety, safeguarding, and risk assessments are completed.

• Collaborate with curriculum teams to align placement opportunities with course objectives.

• Promote work-based learning across the college, including during National Work Experience Week.

• Organise and support employability events, workplace trips, and promotional activities.

• Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance, and contribute to placement impact reporting.

Who You Are:

• A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

• Experienced in business development, employer engagement, or work placement coordination.

• Familiar with the T Level framework and/or post-16 education sector.

• Organised, resilient, and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• A team player who is process-driven, adaptable, and focused on delivering quality outcomes.

• IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office and data tracking systems
