Governance Professional - Franklin College Trust, Grimsby

Part Time – 22.5 hours per week, Term Time Only (plus overtime for attendance at 22 meetings per annum)

Salary: £37,734–£41,019 FTE (SFCA Support Staff Spine Points 20–23)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Governance Professional to play a key role in supporting the effectiveness of governance across the Trust, ensuring the highest standards of transparency, accountability and compliance.

This role reports to the Chair of the Trust and is integral to the smooth and effective operation of the Trust, including its Members, Board of Directors, the Local Governing Body and Local Advisory Board. You will be the first point of contact for governance matters, providing expert advice to Members, Directors and Community Governors, guiding them through their statutory responsibilities, and ensuring that all governance activity meets regulatory and constitutional requirements.

As the Governance Professional, you will:

• Provide high-quality clerking services, including preparing agendas, coordinating papers and producing accurate minutes.

• Advise stakeholders with governance responsibilities and Leaders on governance legislation, best practice and procedural matters.

• Maintain governance records, including registers of interest, attendance and membership.

• Support on the coordination and delivery of Members, Directors and Community Governors induction, training and professional development.

• Keep the Trust informed of relevant DfE guidance and ensure compliance with key regulations, including but not limited to the Academy Trust Handbook.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance processes, systems and documentation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Governance Professional who is organised, diplomatic and confident, ideally with a strong track record of working within a Trust environment. You will need excellent written skills, outstanding attention to detail and the ability to interpret and communicate governance requirements clearly.
