We are looking for a Head of Sociology who will lead the delivery of Sociology and, ideally, Criminology, inspiring our students whilst fostering a culture of curiosity, critical thinking, and academic achievement. Sociology is a popular option at both KS4 and KS5 and as a subject, achieves consistently high outcomes. Our ideal candidate would also contribute to the teaching of Criminology at KS5.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to lead a high-achieving department and make a meaningful impact on students' academic growth and personal development.
What we are looking for:
- An excellent practitioner who will deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons to students of all abilities at GCSE and A level.
- Someone with experience in teaching Criminology would be preferable.
- A role model for outstanding teaching to both colleagues and students and someone who strives continually to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
- Someone with high standards of communication and interpersonal skills, committed to working as part of a team.
- Someone with the ability to motivate both students and their peers, with a proven track record in achieving excellent student progress.
- A passion for student welfare.
