The college is continuing an exciting programme of improving the IT facilities offered to our students and staff. As a result of a recent department re-structure, we now have an opportunity for an additional dynamic and experienced IT Technician to join our Computer Services Department to help us with this programme, and to provide high quality support to staff and student users of the College Systems and Network.

Applicants should possess a proven track record of working as an IT Technician or in a similar role, supported by relevant experience gained through working in a commercial and/or education environment. Applicants will have a good knowledge of hardware and software installation and support, coupled with demonstrable experience of diagnosing and resolving problems in an efficient and effective manner. Experience of supporting Apple equipment is highly desirable, as is any experience of supporting telephony.

Educated to level 3 or above in an IT or related discipline, applicants will be able to learn new systems quickly, will possess a strong customer service ethic and be an excellent communicator. Applicants must adopt a flexible approach to working patterns and be willing to travel and set up equipment off-site.

The ability to communicate effectively using the Welsh language has been deemed as desirable.

Previous applicants need not re-apply.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English. Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce. We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills

Gower College Swansea is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and require registration with the Education Workforce Council for Wales.
