An exciting opportunity has come up to work supporting learners in a new way. We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, experienced individuals to join our very busy Learning Area Teams in providing pastoral coaching for learners and support for personal tutors.
Your main area of responsibility is to proactively work with learners and college tutors to improve attendance, retention and attainment and address general behaviour issues, with a key responsibility of checking and reporting on learner attendance.
You will also work alongside other support services to provide a creative flexible extra curriculum offer which will be tailored for learners needs.
You will hold or be working towards a degree or level 4 qualification and have 5 GCSEs grade C or equivalent. You must also be prepared to work towards a peer mentoring qualification.
You will need excellent organisation and problem solving skills, the ability to work flexibly under pressure, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Past experience of working with young people will be required, as well as experience of arranging activities and presenting.
In addition, you will need to demonstrate excellent I.T. and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively both internally and externally with stakeholders both in person and virtually. Welsh Language Skills – Level 3 Speaking & Listening are desirable for this post.
Flexibility is essential to work across different College sites and on weekends and evenings when necessary.
