Key Responsibilities:
- To provide one-to-one or small group support under lecturer direction as appropriate in the classroom setting.
- To assist with the development of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
- To assist with the pastoral care needs of learners and to direct learners to other college support mechanisms as necessary.
- To provide learners with help in understanding oral and written instruction.
- To assist with the co-ordination of learners’ work, record keeping and progress through liaison with lecturing and support staff at all levels within the College.
- To attend and participate in learner reviews and team meetings as required.
- To support learners with the use of assistive technology and specialist software and actively promote its use.
About you:
- Maths and English GCSE A-C grade or equivalent
- Recent experience of working with learners with educational support needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with additional learning needs/learning difficulties.
- Excellence interpersonal and communication skills
- One to one and group support skills
- Good oral and written communication skills, both in person and virtually online.
