RESPONSIBLE TO: Child Welfare Manager / Deputy Headteacher

SALARY: Grade 5, scp 7-9 (£24,294 - £25,119 per annum, pro rata)

MATERNITY COVER OF 1 YEAR

We are seeking to recruit a Pastoral Support Officer to cover a 1 year maternity leave within our existing Pastoral Team.

You will be based in 'Gofal', our well-being centre.  This is at the heart of the school and is accessed by pupils for a number of reasons e.g. first aid, advice, sessions with outside agencies and general well-being support.  The successful candidate will work with the existing wider pastoral team including Heads of Year and Heads of Key Stages.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to deal sensitively with pupils in order to achieve positive outcomes.

Experience of working with children/young people is a necessity, though not necessarily in a school environment, so if you think you have the right skills for this role then we would love to hear from you.

The closing date for applications is 4pm Sunday 7th April 2024.

Interviews will take place on Friday 12th April 2024.

The successful candidate will be required to start as soon as possible.

Within Swansea Council there is a "Safeguarding is Everybody's Business" principle, and this applies to all Swansea Council employees, elected members, volunteers and contractors. Further details can be found on the Swansea Council website.
