Great Western Academy is looking for a new hub leader (lead Learning Mentor/ Higher Level Teaching Assistant) for a specific area of SEND
Please note that the stated hourly rate above is likely to rise to £14.66 - £15.17 per hour (actual salary £23,019 to £23,819) backdated from 1st April 2023
Great Western Academy opened in brand new, state-of-the-art facilities in North Swindon in September 2018. The Academy is heavily oversubscribed in years 7 to 11 and our first two cohorts of A-level students celebrated their exceptional results in summer 2021 and 2022.
Great Western Academy welcomes all students; the SEND team promotes our inclusive approach and ensures that students with additional needs are fully supported with their Education. Our Hub Leaders need to show initiative, be well organised, proactive and conscientious. They will be managing and coordinating the Learning Mentors that work within their hub, alongside supporting students with SEND needs in this area through targeted interventions and in class support at times.
The successful candidate will be reporting to our experienced SENDCo. Our Hub Leaders each specialise in their specific area of SEND, therefore experience, qualifications, or simply a strong interest in an area of SEND would be an asset to any application.
Great Western Academy supports staff career progression and additional benefits of working at GWA include:-
- State of the art facilities
- Leading edge ICT, including a laptop provided for all staff
- Medical and well-being support service
- Free parking
Great Western Academy aims to radically improve the life chances of every student who attends. We use our brand-new building and state-of-the-art facilities (including a purpose-designed SEND suite) to help achieve this, but it is the team of staff who turn our vision into reality. If you have the proven ability to contribute to our inclusive approach in the classroom and beyond then we would be delighted to hear from you.
Ongoing training will be supported and encouraged.
Further details are available on the Academy website and in the information documents attached. If you have further questions prior to application, please contact Denise Horn via email the recruitment email.
