We are seeking a Technician to assist staff and students in a wide range of art and design activities in our 3D workshops. This will include preparation, monitoring and maintenance of equipment and materials and assisting with demonstrations of equipment and processes. You would be responsible for maintaining and providing basic servicing for woodworking and metalworking machinery, assisting with demonstrations including CAD/CAM machinery and software and operating and maintaining laser cutters, 3D printers and CNC router. You will also supervise classes of learners in Active Learning Facilitator sessions in the teaching areas.

You should possess a qualification in Art and Design and will ideally have some experience in an art and design related role, with a particular focus on 3D work, and will need experience of using 3D equipment/machinery including a laser cutter. You should also have excellent communication skills, be flexible and have enthusiasm for working with young people in a creative environment.

We wish to appoint a full time, term time only Technician to work within the Science team of the College’s successful Sixth Form which delivers GCSE, A Levels and vocational Science courses.

Please note: for individuals who start a term time only role after 1st September, the salary will be pro-rated from the start date to the end of this academic year (31st August 2026). This ensures that the correct entitlement to pay and holiday pay relative to the portion of the year worked. This will be paid in equal monthly instalments until 31 August. The salary will revert to the normal arrangements as stated in the advert at the start of the following academic year.
