About the Role
• Work with the Head of ADS and other key stakeholders to gather and understand the detailed requirements of a given project.
• Provide line management for the members of the development team.
• Oversee and support the work of the development team, ensuring they have sufficiently detailed and documented requirements.
• Work with the Head of ADS and other key stakeholders to manage the competing priorities and demands made of the team’s finite resource.
• Continuously review and improve the team’s processes.
• Work with the team to estimate resource requirements and derive target delivery dates across a number of projects.
• Perform initial reviews of work completed, providing detailed feedback to team members, setting clear expectations of the quality of work required.
• Assist in the development of test plans and liaise with stakeholders to collect feedback from wider testing efforts and ensure any rework is appropriately managed.
• Communicate target dates, progress, and the likelihood of any changes to target delivery dates, to key stakeholders in a timely fashion.
• Work with the team to regularly review and document the team’s processes.
• Being responsible for maintaining technical documentation where appropriate, and work with the team and other stakeholders to produce end-user guidance and training materials.
• Provide an efficient and responsive customer focused service.
About You

• You will have experience of managing software development teams
• You will have excellent technical knowledge and organisational skills
• You will be comfortable working flexibly, with great attention to detail to produce reliable, high-quality solutions
• You will have experience using software development lifecycle tools, technologies and environments used within software engineering (Jira and Azure DevOps desirable)
• You will have experience in working with teams to deliver business software, especially web-based applications
• You will enjoy sharing knowledge and helping other, more junior members of the team.
• You will have working knowledge of principles, practices and methods of the software development lifecycle
• You will have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
