JOB TITLE: Head of Enterprise

SCALE/SCALE-POINT: Support Staff Spine point

RESPONSIBLE TO: Vice Principal

THE POST

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and developing the College’s relationships with partner institutions: employers, community centres, schools and universities, linking curriculum areas to employers via Industry Advisory Boards, implementing Advisory Board initiatives, generating industry placements for students, leading on the College’s application to offer apprenticeships and meeting employer-related income generation targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• To be responsible for the maintenance of College records of contacts with key partner institutions: employers, community centres, schools and universities.

• To attend termly Curriculum Area Industry Advisory Boards.

• To implement Advisory Board initiatives in Sport, Engineering, Business and Computing, including the development of resources and facilities for these subject areas.

• To lead on the College’s application to offer Apprenticeships.

• To manage relationships with partner institution.

• To generate new partnerships for the College.

• To contribute to Industry Placement capacity building.

• To contribute to generating external work experience opportunities for students.

• To explore employers’ requirements for commercial training.

• To generate growth in the delivery of adult education (AEB and full-cost provision).

• To attend local Chamber of Commerce meetings and actively market the College’s curriculum offer.

• To maintain awareness of the requirements of the College’s health and safety policy and adhere to health and safety rules in the workplace.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• To work flexibly and efficiently to maintain the highest professional standards.

• To carry out administrative work associated with the role.

• To identify and complete personal staff development needs to meet the College's strategic and operational plan and personal continuous development.

• To participate in the College’s performance management scheme.

• To ensure adherence to the College Data Protection, Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding and Prevent policies.

• To work to the college quality standards within the context of the quality systems.

• To undertake such other duties in keeping with the post as may be determined by the Vice Principal.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential skills and Characteristics

• Full, clean driving license and daily use of a reliable car.

• Level 4 or higher professional or academic qualification.

• A minimum of three years’ experience in working with employers.

• Level 3 Management qualification or willingness to work towards.

• Experience of On Job Training and Workplace Assessments.

• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.

• Good computer skills.

• Level 2 qualifications in English and mathematics.

Desirable

• A degree-level qualification.

• Level 5 Management qualification or willingness to work towards.

• Experience of quality assurance systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Tenure of post: Permanent

Hours of work: To be discussed at interview

Salary: up to £46,917.00 per annum (Pro rata for part time and Term Time Only)

Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme (optional). This is an employee

  and employer contributory pension scheme.
