Technician Trainer in Electrical

If you’ve built a career in the electrical or construction industry and are ready for a new challenge, this could be the perfect next step. We’re looking for a practical, motivated, and safety-conscious Technician Trainer to join our Construction team at Peterborough College.
You’ll use your real-world experience to train, support and inspire learners on our Construction programmes — helping them gain the hands-on skills and confidence they need for successful careers.
What you’ll do
- Deliver practical training and support in electrical and construction skills
- Coach and assess learners in workshops and on accredited programmes
- Maintain tools, materials and equipment to a high standard
- Supervise learners in workshops, ensuring a safe and positive environment
- Keep workshops organised, stocked, and compliant with Health & Safety regulations
- Work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences
What we’re looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience in the construction or electrical industry
- A good working knowledge of health and safety in a workshop environment
- Strong practical skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working with young people and adult learners
- A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for sharing your skills
Ideally, you’ll hold (or be willing to work towards):
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area
- Level 3 Award in Education & Training (PTLLS) or equivalent
- Emergency First Aid and Health & Safety certifications
