Inspire the next generation of animal care professionals.

Do you have a passion for animals and a flair for teaching?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer in Animal Studies to join our friendly and dedicated team at Stamford College, part of the Inspire Education Group.

This is an exciting opportunity to share your knowledge, inspire learners, and play a key role in helping students gain the skills and confidence they need to build rewarding careers in animal care and related industries.

About the Role

As a Lecturer in Animal Studies, you’ll teach and support students across a range of levels (from Level 1 to Level 4 HND), delivering engaging lessons that bring theory to life through real-world practice.

You’ll:

  • Deliver high-quality, interactive teaching and learning in Animal Studies and related subjects.
  • Support and inspire students to achieve their goals and progress in their studies and careers.
  • Coordinate courses, develop materials, and ensure the curriculum remains current and relevant.
  • Foster excellent standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement among learners.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching practice, resources, and student experience.
  • Take an active role in trips, visits, and enrichment activities that enrich learning.

Whether you’re an experienced teacher or new to education, this role offers a chance to make a real difference in a supportive and collaborative environment.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both expert knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for the subject.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A Level 5 or higher qualification in a relevant Animal Studies subject.
  • A teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
  • Recent experience in an animal care, welfare, or management setting.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

Experience in course coordination or working within Further Education would be an advantage, but we welcome applications from those looking to take their first step into teaching — we’ll provide support to help you achieve your teaching qualification.

Why Join Us?

At Stamford College, we’re proud of our supportive, student-focused culture and our commitment to continuous professional development. You’ll be part of a team that values creativity, innovation, and collaboration.

We offer:

  • A competitive salary based on qualifications and experience
  • 37 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and discretionary days
  • Teachers’ Pension Scheme membership
  • Access to professional development and progression opportunities
  • A welcoming campus environment with excellent facilities, including our on-site animal unit
