We’re Hiring! Learning Support Coordinator

Do you have a passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Are you someone who believes every learner deserves the chance to thrive, grow and achieve their potential? If so, we’d love you to join our caring and committed team at Stamford College.

We’re looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable and proactive Learning Support Coordinator to play a key role in guiding students through their journey — from pre-entry and transition, to success on their study programme and progression into adulthood.

This is a meaningful, people-centred role where you’ll make a direct difference to the lives of our learners every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Learning Support Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our SEND & ALS provision. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and contributing to all aspects of the EHCP process — from consultations through to annual reviews
  • Assessing additional support needs and managing Exam Access Arrangements
  • Supporting new learners through a positive and well-planned transition into college
  • Working collaboratively with curriculum teams and the SEN Coordinator to ensure support needs are met
  • Providing clear guidance on reasonable adjustments and strategies to maximise independence and achievement
  • Creating and reviewing support plans, risk assessments, and personalised learning recommendations
  • Offering 1:1 mentoring, emotional guidance and adapted learning strategies
  • Coordinating specialist support such as Occupational Therapy and external agency involvement
  • Maintaining accurate ALS records, auditing paperwork and ensuring compliance
  • Leading or supporting staff training to raise awareness of SEND best practice
  • Acting as a key point of contact for students, families, tutors and external services
  • Supporting with enrolment, open events and transition activities

Every day, you’ll be part of a team that works together to create a safe, inclusive and empowering learning environment.

About You

You're someone who brings compassion, clarity and confidence to your work. You’ll also have:

  • Experience supporting people with a diverse range of SEND needs
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes and relevant legislation
  • The ability to assess support needs and make appropriate recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills — with students, families, staff and professionals
  • A calm, patient and supportive approach, even in challenging situations
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of assistive support strategies, SMART target-setting and person-centred approaches
  • Good IT skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, MIS systems)
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting positive outcomes for young people

Relevant qualifications are required or willingness to work towards them.

Why Join Stamford College?

At Stamford College, part of the Inspire Education Group, you’ll join a supportive, inspiring and passionate SEND team where your work genuinely matters. We offer:

  • 30 days annual leave + bank holidays + discretionary days
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • A collaborative team focused on student-centred support
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities
  • A friendly environment where compassion and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do
  • The chance to change lives — every single day
