Stamford College, part of Inspire Education Group, is looking for caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Workers to join our Additional Learning Support team.
This is a rewarding role where you will support students with additional needs to access learning, build confidence and achieve their goals.
About the role
Working alongside teaching staff, you will provide in-class support to students, helping them stay engaged and get the most from their learning.
Your role will include:
- Supporting students with learning difficulties or disabilities in the classroom
- Helping learners stay focused, motivated and confident
- Supporting literacy, numeracy and study skills
- Encouraging independence and helping students develop life skills
- Assisting with exam support such as reading, scribing or prompting
- Working closely with teaching staff to ensure students receive the support they need
About you
We are looking for someone who is patient, supportive and passionate about helping young people succeed.
You may have experience supporting learners in schools, colleges, care settings or voluntary roles – but most importantly you will have a positive attitude and the ability to build supportive relationships with students.
You will ideally have:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A calm, supportive and encouraging approach
- A Level 2 Learning Support qualification is desirable, but support can be provided to gain this.
