  • Student Engagement: Support student inductions, supervise student activities, and promote LRC usage through engaging displays, leaflets, and promotional events. You'll also be instrumental in fostering a love for reading!
  • Collaboration & Outreach: Liaise with curriculum areas, represent the LRC at meetings, and help identify new resources to enhance learning.
  • Resource Management: Perform essential housekeeping tasks, assist with stock take, repairs, and renewals, and help maintain our online e-Resources database.
  • Administrative Excellence: Handle day-to-day enquiries, process sales using a till, manage orders, and contribute to accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Mentorship & Development: Train new library staff and mentor students on work experience.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a highly motivated individual who is:

  • Customer-Centric: Possesses excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet), and comfortable working with computerised library systems.
  • Organised & Proactive: Able to work independently, manage a varied workload, and take initiative.
  • A Strong Communicator: Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with diverse individuals and situations, including challenging behaviours.
  • A Team Player: Committed to collaborative working and sharing best practices.
  • Committed to Education: Passionate about supporting student learning and development, with an awareness of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

We offer:

  • 30 days annual leave, plus Christmas close down.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment
  • Opportunities for professional development
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • On-site benefits and facilities, including a gym, free on-site parking and on-site nursery (Peterborough campus only)
  • Work closely with a highly dedicated team
