Are you a natural team leader with a passion for people, service, and student success?

At Peterborough College, part of the Inspire Education Group (IEG), we’re on the lookout for a confident and customer-focused Student Recruitment & IAG Team Leader — someone who can inspire, motivate and lead our fantastic Student Recruitment team.

If you love solving problems, creating standout student experiences, and bringing out the best in your team — we want to hear from you.

What’s the role all about?

As our new Team Leader, you’ll play a vital role in the recruitment journey for future students — leading a passionate front-line team that provides information, advice and guidance across:

  • Student Recruitment
  • Admissions
  • Financial Support
  • Transport
  • Reception

You’ll work closely with the Group Manager and colleagues across campuses to ensure high-quality service, accurate guidance, and a smooth student journey from first enquiry to enrolment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of IAG Officers and Reception staff
  • Ensuring outstanding customer service is delivered across all touchpoints
  • Overseeing processes for student bursaries, transport, and funding documentation
  • Coordinating recruitment events and making sure they’re well-resourced and impactful
  • Working collaboratively across departments and campuses to share best practice
  • Supporting your team to meet targets and grow student numbers — while ensuring every applicant feels seen, heard, and supported
  • Taking ownership of operational challenges and opportunities with energy, empathy, and efficiency
  • Jumping in where needed to support your team during peak times

You’re perfect for this role if you:

  • Are a natural team leader with experience managing people in a fast-paced setting
  • Have a keen eye for process, quality and continuous improvement
  • Love delivering exceptional customer service — and can train and inspire others to do the same
  • Thrive when you're solving problems, juggling priorities and making things happen
  • Are a confident communicator who can build great working relationships at all levels
  • Are committed to inclusivity, integrity, and putting students first

What you’ll need:

  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG)
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • IT qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a team leader, supervisory, or senior customer-facing role
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word)

Bonus points if you have experience in:

  • Further education or post-16 settings
  • Managing funding or student record systems
  • Recruitment, admissions or IAG services

What’s in it for you?

  • 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays + discretionary days)
  • Generous Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Enhanced staff development and CPD
  • A fully funded enhanced DBS check
  • A friendly, collaborative culture where your voice is heard and your contribution matters
  • The opportunity to make a real impact on students’ lives and futures
