We’re Hiring! Supported Internship Team Leader

Are you passionate about helping young people with learning difficulties and disabilities gain the confidence, skills and experience they need to thrive in the workplace? Do you enjoy leading a team and building strong relationships with employers? If so, we’d love to welcome you to the Inspire Education Group as our new Supported Internship Team Leader.

This is a truly rewarding role where you will lead a dedicated team of Job Coaches, drive employer engagement, and shape a programme that changes lives through meaningful work experiences, independence and employment outcomes.

About the Role

As the Supported Internship Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead, support and develop a team of Job Coaches — including training needs, caseload allocation, performance monitoring and team meetings
  • Work closely with SEND, Work Experience, Health & Safety and other teams to ensure placements are safe, compliant and high quality
  • Build excellent relationships with employers and source new placement opportunities
  • Oversee all documentation and processes related to work placements, including health & safety records and student support needs
  • Secure Access to Work funding from the DWP and maintain accurate, auditable records
  • Support students directly in the workplace when required, using best practice methods including Systematic Instruction
  • Attend EHCP Annual Reviews (where possible) and ensure student records are up to date
  • Complete workplace reviews, track student progress, and gather feedback from students, employers and parents/carers
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to ensure learners are fully prepared for employment
  • Contribute to a positive, student-centred, inclusive and high-performing SEND provision across the group

This is a fast-paced, varied and meaningful role where no two days are the same — and where your leadership will directly influence student success.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • Confident identifying individual learner needs and advocating for them
  • Skilled at building partnerships with employers and stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable about work experience processes, health & safety, and safeguarding
  • Experienced using information systems (e.g., EBS / ProMonitor)
  • Organised, proactive and able to prioritise in a busy environment
  • A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • A calm, supportive and positive role model for young people
  • Able to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Comfortable leading a team and working collaboratively across departments

Experience with DWP Access to Work funding or Systematic Instruction is desirable, but training can be provided.
