Share Your Skills and Support the Next Generation!

Are you a qualified plumber with some practical experience and a passion for helping others learn?

We’re looking for a Technician Trainer – Plumbing to join our welcoming Construction team at Stamford College, part of the Inspire Education Group (IEG).

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants a stable, rewarding career, and is ready to use their trade knowledge to guide and support learners — without the pressures of working on-site or managing projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this varied and practical role, you’ll:

  • Support the delivery of plumbing training sessions and workshops.
  • Demonstrate tools, techniques, and safe working practices to students.
  • Help assess learners’ practical skills and provide constructive feedback.
  • Keep the plumbing workshop tidy, organised, and well-stocked.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Supervise students during practical tasks, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
  • Support teaching staff with the setup and smooth running of sessions.

About You

You don’t need to be a fully qualified teacher — just someone with a solid plumbing background and a willingness to learn.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 2 (or above) qualification in Plumbing.
  • Has hands-on experience in the plumbing trade (college, apprenticeship, or industry).
  • Takes pride in their work and enjoys supporting others.
  • Is organised, reliable, and safety-conscious.
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude and enjoys working as part of a team.

If you’re looking to move away from the tools but still want to use your plumbing skills in a meaningful way, this could be your next step.

Why Join Stamford College?

At Inspire Education Group, we value people who are practical, passionate, and committed to making a difference. You’ll be part of a supportive team where you can keep developing your skills and even work towards teaching qualifications — all while helping students start their own careers in plumbing.

We offer:

  • 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and discretionary days
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • A modern, well-equipped workshop environment
  • A friendly, inclusive team where you’ll feel valued from day one

How to Apply

If you’re ready to use your trade experience to inspire the next generation of plumbers, we’d love to hear from you!
