King’s Oak Academy is situated in the heart of the South Gloucestershire community and is within easy commuting distance of Bristol and Bath. The academy has been part of the Cabot Learning Federation since 2011 and enjoys the benefits from being part of a mature, successful MAT which offers access to excellent professional services and opportunities to work in collaboration with experienced professionals across the trust.
As an all-through school, King's Oak is in a privileged position to educate children aged 4-16 and support their families. The academy staff structure and estates are divided into three phases (Lower School = Reception to Year 4, Middle School = Years 5-8, Upper School = Years 9-11). This structure ensures that learning is high quality and bespoke for each child, long-term relationships are fostered with families and King's Oak employees benefit from the unique CPD and leadership opportunities that are available as a result of working in an all-through community school.
The Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2025, having grown from its Bristol beginnings to its current total of 35 schools operating between Gloucestershire in the north and Somerset in the south. Throughout that evolution, our core purpose has remained consistent: we believe that by working together rather than in isolation, we can accelerate school improvement and embed excellence in our academies. In doing so, we create more opportunities for the lifelong success of our students.
To consistently deliver excellent educational experiences for pupils aged 2-19, improving their life chances and serving the communities of which we are a member.
Our vision is simple: we believe that by working together rather than in isolation we can accelerate school improvement and embed excellence in our academies. In doing so, together we can create more opportunities for the lifelong success for our students. That mission is underpinned by our long-established HEART values, which shape our decision-making and behaviours. These values ensure our students are at the forefront of our minds as we seek to deliver on our strategic goal of creating equity through education.
Our culture is one of purpose and collaboration, and its key binding agent is a shared, and deep-rooted moral imperative to improve lives.
We are keen to attract talented and committed people who share our values and who will unite behind our mission.
We see our people as our strength, and seek colleagues who are comfortable with complexity and make a virtue of doing better and improving standards. Our people are learners, committed to deepening their knowledge and understanding of themselves, their role, their position of influence and responsibility to those we support to thrive in their lives
We want our staff to be engaged and motivated to be the best versions of themselves every day.
In return, we offer an environment which is welcoming, diverse and inclusive of all, and fully representative of the communities we serve. And while we work hard, we also value balance in our busy lives, and use modern technology to support us and adopt flexible approaches to working and learning.
We care about our people and their wellbeing and support all colleagues with a host of resources, from wellbeing apps to counselling and access to occupational health. We offer an environment where everyone can thrive, enjoy a sense of belonging and achieve ongoing work fulfilment and career development within resilient and empowered teams shaped by inspiring leaders.
If this sounds like an organisation where you could flourish, we would love to hear from you.
We are a diverse and inclusive community of 35 academies across five cluster regions in the South West that is committed to excellence and making a positive impact. Our people bring unique perspectives, but we’re all driven by a shared moral purpose and a passion for making a positive impact, whether in a teaching, leadership or support role. We’re proud to foster a culture where everyone can thrive, feel valued, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of others.
We are an equal opportunity employer and proud to serve a diverse student population and our communities. We strongly believe that representation matters and so encourage applications from underrepresented and global majority groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
We aim to remove any barriers to employment, ensuring everyone can compete on equal terms. Job share, part-time and flexible working opportunities will be considered.

The Cabot Learning Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles across the trust have a varying level of responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice, with some roles holding significant responsibility and involving working with children on a daily basis in regulated activity. Regardless of the level of responsibility and involvement in each role, we expect all staff, visiting professionals and volunteers to share this commitment.
All successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive pre-employment checking process, including an enhanced DBS check (including a further check against the appropriate barred list), references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK, child disqualification, prohibition from teaching/management and online checks. You must also tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
