As part of this amazing journey, we will be relocating to our new state of the art facility over at Vauxhall in September 2022 – South Bank Technical College (website launch date: October 2021). You could play a key role in helping to pave the way for our future technical experts! This a great opportunity for technical experience, creativity and innovative minds to collaborate in order to plan, develop and design new workshops and courses for our students.
To fulfil this plan, we are looking for experienced, qualified and enthusiastic Skills Coaches to work closely with our apprentices in:
Level 3- Electrical Installation
Level 3 - Civil Engineering
Level 3 - Building Services Design
Level 3 - Surveying
Level 2 - Bricklaying
Level 2 - Property Maintenance
Level 3 - Dental Nursing
Whist working closely with apprentices, you will deliver training, monitor and review their progress, set targets and undertake assessments in the workplace. You will monitor the achievement of the 20% off-the-job (OTJ) training requirement and support the apprentice and employers to achieve it. You will also embed Maths and English into the delivery, supporting any functional skills requirements. You will ensure apprentices are aware of routes for progression and further development.
Developing relationships with both existing and new employers, you will actively secure training opportunities and support the growth of apprenticeships. You will assist the development of employers' assessment capabilities, ensuring they are aware of their health and safety, safeguarding and equal opportunities obligations, as well as taking care to ensure work and college-based aspects of the apprenticeship complement each other effectively.
The ideal candidates will be experienced in delivering Apprenticeship Standards and working in the Further Education/Work Based Learning sector. Applicants direct from industry are welcomed. An A1/TAQA Assessor award is required or willingness to work towards it.
