Apprentice Skills Coach – Bricklaying. Apprenticeship and Commercial Operations Department. Part Time. 18.5 Hours per week. Permanent. Additional £2,500 Market Supplement.

Leicester College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Apprentice Skills Coach (formerly known as Trainer Assessor) with current bricklaying experience. We would like somebody to join our team that has the passion and ability to impart their experience, skills, and knowledge to a caseload of Apprentices on Craft Apprenticeships.

The successful applicant will work as part of a team delivering high quality training and assessment to Bricklaying apprentices. The primary duties include carrying out 8-10 weekly high quality tripartite reviews of apprentice's progress across the holistic programme supplying feedback in a way that motivates individuals and help apprentices overcome potential barriers to progression whilst supporting them to pass their Apprenticeship end point assessment.

We are looking for a positive, proactive and solutions focused individual to help us drive the provision to support our journey to outstanding. 

Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Standards, E – portfolio system (Smart Assessor) and experience of working with apprentices would be beneficial along with excellent communication skills and a 'can do' approach to tasks. However, we will provide all the required training for those looking for a career change from industry related roles to education.

You must have the following:

  • Level 2 Bricklaying or trade related qualification
  • Relevant and current bricklaying experience
  • Hold or be prepared to work towards an Assessor and Verification award, e.g., TAQA, A1 or V1. 
  • A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in maths and English or equivalent (GCSE Grade C or GCSE Grade 4)
