FE Programme Lead in Music/Music Technology. Part Time. 29.6 hours per week. Permanent.

An opportunity has arisen in the Creative and Performing Arts curriculum area for two Programme Lead roles. One for our Higher Education Music Performance and Music Technology courses and the second for our FE courses.

Both roles will teach across our range of courses from Level 2 up to university level (Levels 4 & 5).  The department offers courses in Music Technology and Performance based at the Abbey Park campus where students have access to three recording studios, two Mac suites and numerous industry standard microphones and equipment.

The department also runs and uses the well-loved Leicester venue the Sue Townsend Theatre.

We are looking for inspirational and enthusiastic individuals who will be able to promote, maintain and develop the current highly successful provision. With exceptional success rates and students gaining places at top UK universities, you will have industry knowledge and experience across Music Performance and Music Technology and be able to support students in their progression into the industry.

With a broad range of skills and knowledge in music, music technology, production and performance and the music industry, you will lead modules and deliver across all levels. Our core subjects include Studio Recording and Production, Live Sound, DAW Skills, Music Performance, Music Theory and Music Business Skills.

As a Programme Lead you will be required to sustain and develop high quality teaching and learning along with leading a vibrant schedule of student projects. You will maintain and develop links within industry including companies and the commercial sector locally and regionally. Additionally, the HE Programme Lead will also work with De Montfort University our partner and validating university.

The successful candidate must have:

Level 2 English and maths qualifications or the equivalent e.g. GCSE grade c or above, GCSE grade 4 or above or the equivalent.

Degree in the area of specialism

Full Teaching Qualification Level 5 or above e.g. Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to continue developing their professional and teaching practice and will have access to the College’s scholarship programme.
