Lecturer for Gas Engineering/Plumbing and Heating Programmes. Apprenticeship and Commercial. Full Time. 37 Hours Per Week. Permanent.  

 Salary: £31,950 - £38,415 per annum

Leicester College's Apprenticeship and Commercial Operations Department is seeking a full-time lecturer to deliver on their Gas Engineering/Plumbing and Heating programmes.

The ideal candidate will have a passion to continually develop the high standards required within the Gas Engineering/Plumbing and Heating workplace environment. You will have hands-on experience of all areas of the Gas Engineering/Plumbing and Heating working environment and understand its value in the construction industry. In addition, you will require up-to-date knowledge and be able to reinforce, develop and guide efforts made by your students.

You should have extensive knowledge of industry best practices that can help students to succeed in their learning journey.

As a Lecturer, you will deliver a variety of units across the Gas Engineering/Plumbing and Heating.  This apprenticeship is part of the recently developed Apprenticeship Standards and is a popular course that is offered by the college. You will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the team responsible for developing and enhancing this programme. 

 

The successful applicant will possess a range of skills relating to the Gas/Plumbing Standard.  You will also have the ability to work as part of a team, provide feedback in a way that motivates individuals and help learners overcome potential barriers to progress and achieve. We are looking for a positive, proactive, solutions focused individual to help us drive the provision to support our journey to outstanding.

 

Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Standards, E - portfolio’s (Smart Assessor) and experience of working with students would be beneficial along with excellent communication skills and a 'can do' approach to tasks.

 

You should have the following:

  • A full teaching qualification or be willing to work towards this e.g. Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
  • Assessors award or be willing to work towards this e.g. A1/TAQA or equivalent.
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Gas Engineering or Plumbing and Heating.
  • Be Gas Safe Registered
  • A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in maths and English or equivalent e.g. GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent
  • You must have relevant experience within Gas Engineering or Plumbing and Heating.
