Part-time Lecturer in Employability and ESOL. Sessional hours.  Fixed term until 31/07/2024.

Curriculum Area EMES (Employability and ESOL) is seeking to recruit a Part-Time Lecturer to teach ESOL and Vocational Skills courses. The courses range from Pre-Entry to Level 2, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, Maths and ICT. Along with Monday to Friday day time work, there are opportunities for evening and Saturday work too.  

The applicant should have the following:

A vocational qualification at least one level above the level to be taught

Level 2 minimum qualifications in maths and English or the equivalent.

It would be desirable for you to hold a generic teaching qualification. In addition, the applicant must already hold or demonstrate the willingness to enrol on an ESOL subject specific qualification.  

The applicant must have some experience of teaching ESOL courses. A proven track record of working with students of different ages and abilities, assessing their language level, preparing and reviewing their Individual learning plans and completing all relevant enrolment, assessment and progression related documentation, is essential. 

The adaptation and implementation of the College systems with a view to making high quality learning accessible to all ESOL students and monitoring their impact on individual students and their learning is one of the key features of this role.
