We are excited to offer a new opportunity within our high‑performing Construction Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed professional with expertise in Plumbing, Heating and/or Gas to join our expanding team.

Whether you are an experienced lecturer or stepping into teaching for the first time, if you have a strong background in Building Services Engineering (BSE) with specialist knowledge and experience in Plumbing, Heating and/or Gas, we’d love to hear from you.

Key subjects that you will teach

We are looking for someone who can deliver a range of core subjects, ideally including:

Domestic hot and cold water systems (including complex installations)

Domestic central heating systems (including complex installations)

Drainage and sanitation

Environmental and sustainable technologies

Health & Safety within the Construction Environment

A broader understanding of the Construction sector would be an advantage, along with a commitment to inspiring and developing the next generation of industry professionals.

About the role

You will teach across a variety of full‑time and part‑time programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, including Construction T‑Levels (both core and occupational specialisms), depending on your industrial and/or teaching experience.

Applicants should hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, Heating and/or Gas (or equivalent), or be able to demonstrate substantial industry experience in the field. A minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent) is required.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering high‑quality theoretical and practical teaching

Designing and improving learning experiences

Planning and carrying out assessments in line with awarding body requirements

Monitoring, recording and supporting student progress using college systems

Contributing to strong student retention, achievement and progression outcomes

While experience in a training environment or working with young people is desirable, it is not essential. We welcome applications from outstanding industry professionals who are committed to developing their teaching skills. Full support will be provided for those working toward a teaching qualification. Confidence with IT systems and the ability to support learners both in person and remotely are essential.

If you’re passionate about developing talent and delivering exceptional learning experiences, we’d be delighted to receive your application.

For more details, please take a look at the role description. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.

Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
