An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for a highly motivated Trainer Assessor. Applicants are invited from Engineering specialisms such as Mechanical engineering and maintenance and repair of engineering equipment, machining including mills, lathes and CNC, welding as we are seeking to appoint a Trainer Assessor to support the Mechanical Engineering Programme Area.
You will be delivering engineering practical workshop and machining skills, liaising with teaching teams to assist with the demonstration and preparation of equipment where required. Along with taking control of maintenance and repair of engineering equipment in workshops and labs, including, liaising with suppliers for servicing and repair scheduling where appropriate and ordering supply.
The successful candidate will:
Hold level 2 or equivalent in English and maths
Hold Level 3 Vocational Qualifications
Have knowledge of Health and Safety and or a IOSH qualification
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate relevant industrial experience, with the confidence to work on your own initiative, teaching skill in mechanical engineering and maintaining engineering equipment and resources, liaising with suppliers to orders supplies / resources, setting up demonstrations and supporting the teaching staff, conducting practical sessions with delivery of skills to learners, with an awareness of Health & Safety regulations appropriate to the Engineering Environment to work with the team to undertake relevant risk assessments.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable; and some experience of welding would also be desirable; however, you must be a team player; be motivated to improve the quality of the student experience and adopt a proactive flexible approach.
