An exciting opportunity has arisen in Performing Arts at Leicester College. We wish to appoint a specialist Screen Acting Lecturer to join the Performing Arts team.

Responsibilities include delivering Screen classes to L2 and L3 performing arts programmes ensuring that content is industry relevant and in context of the rapidly evolving screen and digital sector. You will lead on the delivery of screen acting modules and projects which will require you to;  

Devise and deliver a curriculum of acting classes to implement the principles and techniques of acting on screen.

Introduce students to the screen industry, production process and industry expectations of the screen actor.

Introduce production skills including production roles and basic editing techniques

Support students in selecting, making and editing showreel and self-tape footage for audition modules

Contribute to student assessment and feedback processes and meetings 

Essential Skills

Current industry experience of working in screen and recorded media

Experience of screen acting / directing at a professional level

Experience of teaching screen acting

Ability to work with camera’s and editing software to produce short films and showreels

Desirable

Experience working in FE and HE settings

With proven administrative skills you will be required to sustain and develop high quality teaching and learning in the area. With relevant experience in industry and educated to degree level in a related subject (or equivalent), you will have some teaching experience, a teaching qualification or be willing to obtain one.

Essentials Qualifications:

Level 4 Vocational Qualification in related subject

Level 2 maths and English or the equivalent (e.g. GCSE grade C or above, GCSE grade 4 or above etc)
