*This role is predominantly based at Richard Taunton's College in Southampton with travel to St. Vincent College in Gosport as and when required.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, efficient and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our Finance department. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the Finance department deliver great service to both its colleges and achieve sound financial management by carrying out a wide range of finance tasks, including assisting with preparation of management accounts, statutory accounts, month end postings and reconciliations, helping budget holders manage budgets, procurement assistance, analysis of variances, preparation and review of budgets, re-forecasting, supervising the processing of invoices and debt chasing. You will be at least part qualified, a strong team player and have experience of working with finance software systems. Candidates must be flexible and able to work at both our college sites, have excellent customer services, prioritisation and organisational skills. The role will require effective liaison with students, staff, senior management. The post holder would be required to work 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure.
