We are looking for a Creative Writing Tutor to deliver engaging and high-quality teaching that inspires learners to develop their voice, confidence and technical writing skills.
This is a flexible, variable hours role, suited to someone who brings both subject expertise and a genuine commitment to supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
About the role
You will design and deliver creative writing sessions that are inclusive, interactive and well-structured, supporting learners to progress whether they are writing for personal interest, further study or career development.
Alongside teaching, you will play an active role in supporting student progress, contributing to curriculum development and ensuring a positive and well-managed learning environment.
Key responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in Creative Writing
- Plan and develop schemes of work and engaging lesson materials
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support learner progress
- Support student retention, achievement and progression
- Contribute to course coordination and curriculum development
- Maintain accurate student records and contribute to quality processes
- Support the wider work of the college, including enrolment and open events

What we are looking for

- A strong background in Creative Writing or a related subject
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Experience of delivering engaging teaching or workshops
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to motivate and support a diverse range of learners
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a wider team
