Portishead Primary School is delighted to be recruiting a new Business Manager to job share with our existing Business Manager. This position represents an outstanding and exciting opportunity for a suitably ambitious and well-qualified individual who will need to display excellent management skills and take a strategic approach to Operational Management.
The school, a member of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership, is seeking a dynamic personality to be responsible for the strategic planning of the estate, to ensure the maintenance of the school site and buildings, as well as health and safety management, ensuring that the school makes the best possible use of resources available.
This role is key to the success of the school and we seek a Business Manager who has a positive attitude, who cares about making a difference in the outcomes of our children, and can take others along the journey with them. You will need to be a team player who is able to multi-task effectively, motivate others, and demonstrate a commitment to achieving high standards.
You will report directly to the Head Teacher and will be expected to be capable of working independently and on your own initiative. This role is a 2.5-day-a-week job-share with the current Business Manager who will primarily lead on Payroll, HR, and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
- To manage the premises to ensure efficiency and workforce productivity.
- Effectively manage the external cleaning and catering contracts.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of Health and Safety (H&S) within the school.
- Undertaking risk assessments to ensure the wellbeing of our staff and pupils
- Ensure the school's facilities and premises are in consistent working order and well maintained allowing for the environment to be one conducive to learning.
