We are excited to offer an opportunity for an exceptional class teacher to join our vibrant, collaborative and happy staff team. This is a fixed-term role in the first instance and will be based in Upper Key Stage 2. Experience of teaching Year 6 would be an advantage.

St Peter’s is a thriving, three-form entry primary school set within beautiful, well-resourced buildings surrounded by green open spaces. We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive community with a strong vision and values at our heart. Our commitment to excellence has been recognised through our recent inspections, with an ‘Excellent’ judgement in our last SIAMS inspection and ‘Outstanding’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection (February 2023).

As part of the Lighthouse Schools’ Partnership and one of 34 National English Hubs, we are proud to offer a clear and purposeful pedagogy, an engaging and ambitious curriculum, and high expectations for every member of our school community. We are deeply committed to ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning, and we invest in high-quality professional development for all staff, supporting them to grow and flourish as outstanding practitioners. At St Peter’s, we care deeply about the success, wellbeing and development of both our pupils and our team.

We are looking for a teacher who will bring energy, passion and dedication to our school community. The ideal candidate will:

Be driven by a genuine passion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of all children, supporting our vision of excellence and flourishing

Hold high aspirations for every pupil, with a particular commitment to championing disadvantaged and SEND learners

Inspire and challenge pupils through creative, engaging and high-quality learning experiences

Thrive as part of a team, working collaboratively and supportively with colleagues

Be enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated, with a strong commitment to developing their teaching career

Demonstrate positivity and resilience, and take joy in celebrating the achievements of both pupils and staff

Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues

Have strong behaviour management skills and a commitment to upholding our behaviour curriculum

Be reflective and forward-thinking, with a genuine desire to continually learn and improve

If you are an ambitious and dedicated teacher looking to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking school where both staff and pupils are encouraged to thrive, we would love to hear from you.

Details of the posts, and application packs, are available in the ‘Vacancies’ section of our website. You can also find lots more about us on our website and get a flavour of what it is like to work, teach and learn at St Peter’s.
