This is a part-time, reduced year role: 6 hours per week, 30 weeks per year.

Leeds Conservatoire is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Music Therapy to deliver specialist tuition in Music Therapy to undergraduate students, both individually and in groups.

You will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of curriculum content related to the music therapy module and support student development by providing high-quality feedback, pastoral care, and professional guidance in line with the Conservatoire’s educational values.


What You Will Do

  • Provide engaging, inclusive, and pedagogically sound teaching in music therapy, supporting students across varied levels of experience.
  • Supervise students where appropriate, enabling application of music therapy techniques and fostering collaborative skills.
  • Engage in curriculum planning and assessment, ensuring alignment with academic and industry standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, assessment panels, and other academic duties as required by the School of Music and Education.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent in music or related field.
  • Professional experience as a music therapist.
  • Experience teaching at HE level or equivalent.
  • Excellent music therapy skills and techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
