About the Role

Leeds City College are seeking a Teacher of Law and Politics to join the School of Public Services, based at our Quarry Hill campus.

We are looking for someone with the passion and skills to deliver topics such as:

  • UK Legal Systems & Uniformed Services.
  • Understand the impact of war and conflict on uniformed services.
  • The influence of the UK government, international organisations and the media on the uniformed services.
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Health and Safety in the Uniformed Services

We expect interviews to take place on the week commencing Monday 8th June.

What You Will Do

  • Develop learners to make positive progress towards their careers goals whilst developing skills and qualities that ensure they have successful outcomes.
  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  • Be responsible for recording student progress -Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology.

About You

  • Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their optimum.
  • A passion for subjects that might include law, politics, history and equality and diversity.
  • Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
  • Recent teaching delivery which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner needs.
