About the Role:
As an Alternative Provision Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating, developing, and delivering engaging and effective lessons for students with diverse needs. You will work closely with the AP Base Lead and the wider team to support the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all students.
- Regularly assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide timely feedback.
- Implement the curriculum, adapting teaching strategies to ensure accessibility and engagement.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, ensuring high standards of behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with support staff and colleagues to create a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Provide pastoral support, promoting the personal and social well-being of students.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students.
- Participate in performance management and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Contribute to target setting and assessment of individual pupils, including using EFL.
- Produce effective reports on pupil progress and targets for improvement.

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching students with diverse needs.
- Strong understanding of differentiation and adaptive teaching.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for working with young people who require alternative education.
