MPS/UPS

To start from 1st September 2025, we are looking for an exceptional Business teacher who will inspire and motivate students in this high achieving state-funded day and boarding school for boys in the lower school and large mixed Sixth Form. The role could be available in a part-time or full-time capacity.

We are looking for candidates with enthusiasm, high expectations and standards who will have an outstanding impact both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate an ability to deliver excellent academic results and exemplary classroom practice. This position is equally suitable for an experienced teacher and one new to the profession.

Business is line managed by the Head of Sixth Form as the majority of teaching is at Sixth Form level (along with other Social Science subjects Economics, Law and Psychology). We also run courses in Years 10 and 11.

We currently offer the following courses:

AQA Business A Level

NCFE L1/2 Technical Award in Business and Enterprise

All courses are very popular and outcomes are usually strong.

The successful candidate may also get the opportunity to teach Economics or another Social Science at A Level subject to the appropriate experience or qualifications.

We are part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership and within this the Bath Hub. We work in partnership with other Bath Hub Schools, in particular with Hayesfield Girls School and Mixed Sixth Form, which is very close to Beechen Cliff. The successful candidate may also get the opportunity to teach Business at Hayesfield in addition to Beechen Cliff.

The School also has a vibrant extra-curricular life, which includes sport, music, drama, outdoor activities, debating and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage.

Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure Barring Service Certificate is required for this post prior to commencement.
