The Role
We are seeking an experienced Group Security Manager to lead and coordinate security operations across our multi‑site College estate. You will ensure our campuses remain safe, welcoming and professionally managed environments for students, staff and visitors, providing strong leadership to security teams and acting as a key link between Estates, student support and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day security operations across all College sites.
- Lead and support security staff and manage contracted services where needed.
- Oversee patrols, access control, key management, CCTV and alarm systems.
- Plan and maintain rotas, ensuring appropriate operational cover.
- Respond to serious incidents and lead investigations as required.
- Produce clear, accurate incident reports and provide evidence for disciplinary or legal processes.
- Manage student risk assessments in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked, incidents, faults and operational activity.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety and data protection requirements.
- Collaborate with police, local authorities and internal support teams on behaviour and community issues.
- Support wider College duties such as weekly Duty Manager cover, enrolment and occasional exam invigilation.
Who You Are
You bring strong experience managing security in a multi‑site or complex environment, with excellent leadership skills and the ability to remain calm, assertive and professional in challenging situations. You have solid knowledge of physical security systems, incident response, safeguarding and health and safety. You communicate clearly, stay highly organised and use IT systems confidently. You act with integrity, discretion and a commitment to creating an inclusive and safe environment for all.
